Framber Valdez Takes Loss Despite Eight Strikeouts Against White Sox

Detroit Tigers left-hander Framber Valdez took the loss Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out eight over five innings against the White Sox. Despite picking up his most strikeouts in a second-half start, an early three-run homer by Munetaka Murakami was the difference. Over his last four outings, Valdez has given up seven runs across 24 innings, bringing his season record to 10-11 with a 4.06 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over 168.2 frames.
