Mets' Devin Williams Throws Live BP, Approaches Potential Activation
New York Mets closer Devin Williams threw a live bullpen session Thursday as he progresses from an Aug. 10 right shoulder strain. The Mets will evaluate how his shoulder responds Friday to determine if he is ready for activation. Manager Andy Green indicated Williams will likely return during upcoming series in Texas or Washington, though he may be used in scripted 7th or 8th-inning roles. Williams holds a 4.66 ERA with 16 saves and 51 strikeouts in 38.2 innings.
