Alexander Nikishin Will Not Report To Hurricanes Training Camp

Carolina Hurricanes RFA defenseman Alexander Nikishin will not attend training camp opening on Thursday due to an ongoing contract stalemate. General manager Eric Tulsky confirmed he is not under contract and will not be with the team. Reports also indicate Nikishin requested a trade during the offseason, leaving his future with the franchise uncertain as the Hurricanes prepare for the 2026-27 season without their Russian blue-liner.
