Jordan Mason Placed on IR Following Thumb Surgery

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason was placed on injured reserve Wednesday after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured thumb. Mason led Minnesota with 15 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown in Week 1's victory over Green Bay. He will miss at least four games, with Minnesota's Week 6 bye pushing his earliest potential return to Week 7 against Indianapolis, elevating Aaron Jones into a primary backfield role.
