Da'Shawn Hand Placed on Injured Reserve with Season-Ending Quad Injury

Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand was officially placed on injured reserve on Wednesday after suffering a season-ending quad injury during the team's season opener against Pittsburgh. Hand's injury is a significant blow to Atlanta's defensive front, which was counting on him to serve as an early-down run stopper in the interior. The Falcons promoted tight end Nick Muse to fill Hand's vacant spot on the active roster.
