Kaelen Culpepper Placed on Injured List with Hamstring Strain

The Minnesota Twins placed rookie shortstop Kaelen Culpepper on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a left hamstring strain suffered while running out a double play against the Yankees. The injury temporarily interrupts a promising big-league debut for Culpepper, though team reports indicate he could potentially return for Minnesota's final two regular-season games. In his absence, Ben Ross and Ryan Kreidler will handle shortstop duties.
