Oswaldo Cabrera Designated for Assignment by New York Yankees

The New York Yankees designated utility player Oswaldo Cabrera for assignment on Wednesday to clear a 40-man roster spot for pitcher Clarke Schmidt's activation from the 60-day injured list. Cabrera appeared in three big-league games this season, going 0-for-9, but posted a .288/.345/.444 line with 19 home runs in 122 Triple-A games. The 27-year-old remains under control through 2028 with one minor league option remaining.
