Carlos Correa Officially Shut Down for Remainder of 2026 Season

Houston Astros infielder Carlos Correa will not return to the active lineup for the remainder of the 2026 season. After undergoing ankle surgery in May, Correa attempted an accelerated recovery and rehabbed at the Florida complex, but experienced renewed soreness in his surgically repaired ankle during the ramp-up process. Team officials opted to shut him down to avoid further risk, leaving the veteran to watch from the sidelines as Houston fights in the AL West race.
