Jahmai Jones Faces Roster Crunch Amid Recent Hitting Slump

Boston Red Sox utility player Jahmai Jones collected a pinch-hit single in the eighth inning against a left-handed pitcher before striking out in the ninth. After a strong initial start in Boston as a platoon asset against lefties, Jones has cooled off significantly to a .200 batting average over his last 12 games. His recent slump and positional inflexibility have raised questions about his fit on the bench.
