Ryan Weathers Throws First Bullpen Session in Recovery From Forearm Strain
New York Yankees pitcher Ryan Weathers threw a 15-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday, marking a key milestone in his rehab from a left forearm flexor strain suffered on August 22. Pitching at 87-90 mph, Weathers is scheduled for another bullpen on Friday followed by live batting practice. Before his injury, he posted a 5-8 record with a 3.60 ERA, 3.62 FIP, and 143 strikeouts over 137.1 innings in 25 starts. He may be used out of the bullpen during the postseason.
