Maikel Garcia Reinstated From Injured List by Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals reinstated infielder Maikel Garcia from the 10-day injured list following a hamstring strain that sidelined him since August 20. During a three-and-game rehab assignment, Garcia went 4-for-13 with a double and a stolen base. He is expected to reclaim the starting third base job after batting .269 with three home runs in 73 games this season. To clear roster space, outfielder Matthew Lugo was optioned to Triple-A Omaha.
