Caleb Downs Records Sack and Forced Fumble in NFL Debut

Dallas Cowboys rookie safety Caleb Downs made a strong initial impression during Sunday's 28-20 season-opening loss to the New York Giants. Starting in the slot, Downs logged 61 defensive snaps and finished with eight tackles. His highlight moment came on an unblocked blitz where he delivered a heavy hit on Jaxson Dart to force a fumble. Despite the loss, Downs demonstrated high speed and aggression while acknowledging the defense must improve execution.
