Mike Sainristil Faces Scrutiny Following Week 1 Struggles

Washington Commanders third-year cornerback Mike Sainristil is facing heavy scrutiny following a shaky performance in a 24-22 Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Dan Quinn publicly called out Sainristil's lack of focus on a crucial second-quarter nine-yard touchdown pass allowed to Dontayvion Wicks, noting the lapse was 'not acceptable.' The defensive miscues ultimately helped turn a highly competitive division matchup into a narrow defeat for the Commanders.
