Jonah Tong Throws Six-Inning Gem in Best Career Outing
Mets rookie right-hander Jonah Tong delivered his first quality start, striking out six and allowing just one unearned run on four hits and one walk across six innings in a 2-1 loss to Baltimore. Despite some fans booing him in favor of former Met Pete Alonso, Tong was a bulldog on the attack, throwing 83 pitches. Interim manager Andy Green praised Tong for making major strides and earning his right to remain in the major-league starting rotation.
