Emmet Sheehan Optioned To Triple-A; Paul Gervase Recalled

The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned Emmet Sheehan to Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of their series opener against Cincinnati. The move comes just one day after Sheehan pitched six scoreless innings against Miami, allowing only one run across 11 2/3 innings with 15 strikeouts last week. Although performing well, Sheehan is currently outside the postseason rotation plans as the team manages bullpen depth, recalling Paul Gervase from Triple-A to provide an extra arm during an ongoing 10-game stretch.
