Cam Talbot Postpones Retirement to Sign One-Year Deal With Blue Jackets
Veteran goaltender Cam Talbot postponed retirement, signing a one-year, $950,000 contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets that includes $700,000 in performance bonuses. The 39-year-old posted a 12-9-6 record with a 3.19 GAA and an .883 save percentage across 34 appearances for Detroit in 2025-26. Holding a career mark of 278-204-53 over 13 seasons, Talbot could begin the upcoming campaign as Jet Greaves' backup due to Elvis Merzlikins' shoulder injury.
