Tanner Houck Target Late September Return After Surgery

Boston Red Sox pitcher Tanner Houck is closing in on a return to the majors after undergoing hybrid right-UCL reconstruction and flexor tendon repair in August 2025. Out for more than 14 months, Houck is scheduled for two final rehab outings before a potential activation during the final week of the regular season. The Red Sox envision using Houck in limited relief roles, such as an opener or multi-inning bridge option, to bolster their bullpen ahead of October.
