Carson Soucy Signs Professional Tryout Contract With Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed veteran defenseman Carson Soucy to a professional tryout contract ahead of training camp. General Manager Don Waddell praised Soucy as a physical, stay-at-home blueliner who blocks shots and clears the net. Soucy spent last season split between the New York Rangers and New York Islanders, recording 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) in 76 games. Over eight NHL seasons, he has recorded 99 points across 441 career games.
