Matthew Boyd Takes Loss After Bullpen Relieves Him with Lead

Chicago Cubs left-hander Matthew Boyd took a no-decision turned loss in Sunday's 4-3 defeat to the Pittsburgh Pirates despite striking out Ryan O'Hearn and leaving with a lead in the sixth. Reliever Aaron Civale allowed both inherited runners to score, marking the third straight start where Boyd departed with runners on base that subsequently scored. Boyd now sits at an 8-4 record on the season.
