Christian Izien Out for Lions Opener with Groin Injury

Lions DB Christian Izien is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the New Orleans Saints due to a groin injury. Izien joins edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein, cornerback Ennis Rakestraw, linebacker Jimmy Rolder, and defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo on Detroit's list of inactive players. His absence thins Detroit's defensive secondary depth, requiring active defensive backs to absorb additional coverage snaps for the Week 1 home matchup.
