Ahmed Hassanein Declared Inactive for Lions Week 1

Lions edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein is inactive for Detroit's Week 1 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The rookie was declared out alongside defensive contributors Christian Izien, Ennis Rakestraw, Jimmy Rolder, and Mekhi Wingo as part of Detroit's healthy, defense-heavy inactive list. With 48 eligible players on the game-day roster, the Lions will rely on their active defensive front rotation for the regular-season opener at Ford Field.
