Josh Simmons Ruled Out for Chiefs Opener Against Broncos

Kansas City Chiefs starting left tackle Josh Simmons has been officially ruled out for Monday night's season opener against the Denver Broncos. Simmons' absence leaves quarterback Patrick Mahomes without his primary blindside protector in his first game back from an ACL tear. Undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson will step in to make his first career start at left tackle against a formidable Denver pass rush led by Nik Bonitto.
