Caleb Downs Set for Highly Anticipated Debut with Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys rookie safety Caleb Downs brings generational expectations into the 2026 season opener against the New York Giants. Drafted as part of a complete defensive overhaul under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker, Downs has earned high praise from coaches and teammates alike, including Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh calling him a potential future Hall of Famer. The Giants passed on Downs twice in the draft, selecting Arvell Reese and Sisi Mauigoa instead.
