Chase Hampton Claimed Off Waivers by Nationals Following Designation by Yankees

Former top prospect Chase Hampton has been claimed off waivers by the Washington Nationals after being designated for assignment by the New York Yankees to clear a 40-man roster spot for Aaron Judge. Drafted in 2022, the 25-year-old righty saw his trajectory altered by Tommy John surgery in 2025. The Nationals assigned Hampton to Double-A Harrisburg, where he will work to improve upon his 8.18 ERA over 55 innings this season.
