Carlos Correa Could Play Second Base Upon Return to Houston Astros
Carlos Correa is progressing from May 6 left ankle tendon surgery, taking cage work and grounders in West Palm Beach with plans for live BP and a Triple-A Sugar Land rehab assignment. While manager Joe Espada noted 3B as his return position, reports indicate Houston is evaluating Correa at 2B to optimize defense—keeping Jeremy Peña at SS, Isaac Paredes at 3B, Christian Walker at 1B, Yordan Alvarez in LF, and shifting Jose Altuve to DH. Correa has never played 2B in MLB.
