Nathan Eovaldi Activated From Injured List to Join Rangers Bullpen

Nathan Eovaldi was reinstated from the injured list Saturday after missing over a month due to right elbow inflammation sustained after his August 7 start. The 36-year-old righty did not make a rehab appearance prior to activation and is slated to pitch out of the Texas bullpen initially. Before the injury, Eovaldi posted a 4.21 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. Pitcher Adam Macko was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.
