Contract Negotiations Stall for Alexander Nikishin

Contract negotiations between the Carolina Hurricanes and RFA defenseman Alexander Nikishin remain at a standstill as training camp approaches. Despite his limited leverage, Nikishin is reportedly seeking a significant payday. The situation is further complicated by recent league-wide contract signings, which have set new market benchmarks that may be making it increasingly difficult for the Stanley Cup champions to reach an agreement with the defenseman.
