Malik Davis Out for Opener, Set for Hip Surgery

Cowboys RB Malik Davis has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Giants after sustaining a serious hip injury in Friday's practice. Davis is scheduled to undergo surgery on Saturday and is expected to be placed on injured reserve. The team is currently pivoting their backfield plans, with Emari Demercado expected to step into the No. 2 role while the organization evaluates options to bolster depth at the position.
