Michael Penix Jr. Ruled Out for Week 1 Despite Full Practice

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has been ruled out for the Week 1 game against the Steelers, despite being a full participant in Wednesday's practice. While he is not the immediate starter, there is growing anticipation among NFL circles that the former top-10 pick will eventually reclaim the starting role as the Falcons evaluate their quarterback depth chart throughout the 2026 season.
