Joe Ryan Returns from IL, Strikes Out Seven Against Tigers

The Minnesota Twins activated All-Star right-hander Joe Ryan from the 15-day injured list on Monday following his recovery from a glute injury. In his return to the starting rotation against the Detroit Tigers, Ryan struck out seven batters over four innings, though he took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk. His return provides a boost to the Twins' pitching staff as they continue their season campaign.
