Nathan MacKinnon Coming Off League-Leading 53-Goal Campaign

Nathan MacKinnon enters the 2026-27 season following a dominant performance where he led the NHL with 53 goals. His offensive production was a primary driver for the Colorado Avalanche, who finished the previous season as the league's top-scoring team with 302 total goals. As the Penguins and other contenders look to improve their scoring depth, MacKinnon remains the benchmark for elite offensive output in the league.
