Sam Okuayinonu to Undergo Foot Surgery, Targeting Late-Season Return

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Sam Okuayinonu will undergo surgery to address a foot injury sustained during the final practice before the team's flight to Australia. While head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the procedure is necessary for recovery, the team remains optimistic about his potential return later this season. Initial hopes that he might join the team for the opener were dashed by the severity of the injury, which is now confirmed to require surgical intervention.
