Parker Messick Strikes Out Career-High 12 in Hard-Luck Loss

Messick (11-9) delivered a dominant performance in Saturday's 6-0 loss to the Tigers, setting a career high with 12 strikeouts over six innings. Despite his strong effort, the left-hander allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks to take the loss. Entering the game with an 11-8 record and a 2.46 ERA, Messick was let down by a stagnant Guardians offense that failed to provide any run support at Progressive Field.
