Lazaro Montes Exits Friday's Game With Hip Soreness After Wall Collision

Mariners rookie Lazaro Montes was forced to leave Friday’s contest against the Oakland Athletics in the fifth inning after crashing into the right field wall at full speed. Montes was chasing a fly ball hit by Zack Gelof when the collision occurred, resulting in a diagnosis of left hip soreness. The team is currently evaluating the extent of the injury and expects to provide further updates soon. The incident cut short a game that was already proving difficult for Seattle's lineup.
