Jalon Daniels Named Buccaneers Primary Backup QB

Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels has secured the primary backup quarterback position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers behind starter Baker Mayfield. Following an impressive training camp, the team released veteran Jake Browning to clear the path for Daniels. Although he started 45 games during his college career at Kansas, Daniels enters the 2026 regular season with no prior NFL experience.
