Dylan Cease Makes History in Dominant Win Over Mariners

Dylan Cease (9-5) earned the win in the Blue Jays' 8-1 victory over the Mariners, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out eight over six innings. Cease became the first pitcher to log at least seven strikeouts in 19 consecutive starts during a single season since Randy Johnson in 2001. Despite working with some of his worst stuff of the season, he utilized his slider and changeup to force the Mariners to chase high fastballs, continuing his Cy Young-caliber campaign.
