Igor Chernyshov Fights for Opening Night Roster Spot

Following a strong conclusion to the 2025-26 campaign, Igor Chernyshov was expected to be a lock for the San Jose Sharks' opening night roster. However, recent additions to the team, including Ivar Stenberg and Mason Marchment, have created increased competition. If Chernyshov secures his spot, he is projected to have the opportunity to emerge as one of the Sharks' primary offensive producers for the 2026-27 season.
