Avalanche Push for Long-Term Cale Makar Extension

The Colorado Avalanche are actively working to secure a long-term contract extension for star defenseman Cale Makar. Joe Sakic has expressed growing confidence that a deal will be finalized before the 2026-27 season begins. As training camp approaches, the organization is prioritizing Makar's long-term commitment, with Sakic balancing these high-stakes negotiations alongside his recent participation in team alumni events.
