Ty Johnson Transitioning to Bullpen Role for Rays

Tampa Bay Rays RHP prospect Ty Johnson is shifting his focus to a bullpen role in anticipation of a potential big-league call-up later this season. After working as a starter for most of the year, Johnson was placed on the Development list in mid-July. Since his return, he has been pitching in relief, with reports indicating that his velocity and overall stuff have improved significantly following the transition.
