Quinn Mathews Struggles in Start Against Philadelphia Phillies

Quinn Mathews made the start for the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, filling in for the injured Andre Pallante. His outing proved difficult as the Philadelphia Phillies offense dominated early, beginning with trouble in the bottom of the first inning when Mathews walked Kyle Schwarber. The Cardinals, who had recently been involved in several tight, one-run contests, were ultimately clobbered by the Phillies in a lopsided defeat.
