Ryan McMahon Placed on 10-Day IL With Grade 2 Thumb Sprain

The Yankees placed third baseman Ryan McMahon on the 10-day injured list due to a Grade 2 left thumb sprain sustained while sliding into second base during Wednesday's game against the Orioles. McMahon, who was hitting .268 with a .744 OPS in August, expects to miss the minimum amount of time. Max Schuemann has been recalled to fill the roster vacancy.
