Jacob deGrom Makes History as Second-Fastest to 2,000 Strikeouts

Jacob deGrom (9-8) reached the 2,000 career strikeout milestone in just 1,660 1/3 innings, the second-fastest in MLB history. In his latest outing against Washington on Thursday, he tossed six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out 10 batters. This historic performance follows recent concerns regarding triceps discomfort. At 38, he continues to display elite velocity, trailing only Chris Sale for the fewest innings to reach the 2,000-strikeout mark.
