Bryan Baker Emerges as Key Value Acquisition for Rays

Bryan Baker has proven to be a significant success story for the Tampa Bay Rays. Acquired from the Baltimore Orioles on July 10, 2025, in exchange for a competitive balance draft pick (No. 37 overall), the 6-foot-6 pitcher has become a staple in the Rays' tradition of developing overlooked arms. The draft pick involved in the deal was later re-acquired by the Rays as part of the Shane Baz trade.
