Hunter Greene Out Until 2028 After Second Tommy John Surgery
Reds ace Hunter Greene will miss the remainder of the 2026 season and likely all of 2027 after undergoing his second career Tommy John surgery on Thursday. The procedure to repair a ligament in his right elbow carries a 12-to-18 month recovery timeline. Greene, who previously had the surgery in 2019, was limited to just five starts during the 2026 campaign due to persistent elbow issues. He is not expected to return to the mound until 2028.
