Max Fried Takes Tough-Luck Loss Against Mariners

Max Fried (4-4) suffered a 1-0 loss to the Mariners on Thursday despite a solid performance. Fried allowed just one run on five hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings of work. Although he admitted he did not have his 'best stuff' during the outing, he managed to keep the game competitive. The loss snapped recent momentum, as the Yankees' bats remained quiet throughout the pitching duel against Bryce Miller.
