Rico Dowdle Trending Toward RB1 Role in Pittsburgh

While the Steelers' initial 2026 depth chart lists free-agent addition Rico Dowdle as the No. 2 running back behind Jaylen Warren, camp buzz suggests he is trending toward becoming the unquestioned RB1 by the start of the season. Dowdle has been highly impressive during his first training camp with the team, leading to expectations that he will secure the starting role as the preseason schedule approaches.
