George Lombard Jr. Blasts Home Run in Spectacular Debut

George Lombard Jr. made a stellar professional debut, hitting a 392-foot solo home run off Hunter Dobbins to secure a 2-0 win over the Cardinals. Called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he is being lauded as the next great Yankees hope. His arrival has drawn comparisons to the pressure faced by previous prospects like Anthony Volpe. He is currently awaiting the resumption of his second career game following a rain delay.
