Jeffrey Springs Placed on 15-Day IL with Hip Discomfort

The Athletics placed left-hander Jeffrey Springs on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to August 1, due to right hip discomfort. This move was part of a broader set of roster changes for the Athletics, which also included placing first baseman Nick Kurtz on the 10-day IL, activating Ginn, and recalling Muncy.
