Padres Acquire 2021 Cy Young Winner Robbie Ray

The San Diego Padres have acquired 2021 AL Cy Young Award winner Robbie Ray from the San Francisco Giants. Ray, a primary target for San Diego's postseason push, has been a dominant force in the rotation since June. The deal, finalized Monday, sends two prospects to San Francisco. Ray currently holds a 10-6 record with a 3.08 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 122 2/3 innings this season. His addition is part of a broader effort by the Padres to upgrade their staff.
