Rays Acquire Freddy Peralta from Mets to Strengthen Rotation

The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired pitcher Freddy Peralta from the New York Mets in exchange for three minor leaguers. The Rays pivoted to Peralta after missing out on Tarik Skubal, aiming to bolster their starting rotation for a stretch run to maintain their AL East lead. Peralta struggled in Queens following his offseason move from the Brewers and was traded as the Mets' primary asset during a difficult season for the New York club.
